Better and better

The Miracle of Today's Internet
I was listening to NPR's Culturetopia podcast today, and they did an interview with the director of Michael Jackson's Thriller video. Of course, as soon as it was over, my first instinct was to find the video online and watch it.

See how easy that was? Ridiculously easy. But I have a distinct memory of sitting in my parents' house in 2004, searching the internet in vain for that video and coming up empty. So whenever I see Thriller online, it reminds me of how much we can access today that we couldn't eight years ago. And now? You could spend your whole day watching cat videos and think nothing of it.

I feel that way about song lyrics. If you heard a song on the radio, you'd never know the title/artist unless you happen to hear the DJ mention it...now you can type it three words in the song and ta-da!
